Job Description :-
Key Accountabilities:
• Understand business requirements, incidents, service requests and change requests for BC Hydro Corporate / Vendor application support.
• Develop, maintain and enhance applications using .NET Framework/.NET, C#, VB.NET, VB6/Classic ASP and related Microsoft technologies.
• Support legacy corporate applications, including troubleshooting issues in VB6, Classic ASP, MS Access and custom-built .NET applications where applicable.
• Design, modify, troubleshoot and support Crystal Reports used for operational, business and management reporting.
• Analyze application, database, reporting and interface issues, identify root cause and implement fixes within agreed SLA timelines.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views and scripts for data analysis, reporting and application support.
• Participate in incident, problem, service request, change and release management activities as per client process.
• Perform unit testing, regression testing support, deployment validation and post-implementation support for application changes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, release notes, known error records and knowledge articles.
• Coordinate with business users, application owners, database teams, infrastructure teams and vendor teams for issue resolution.
• Follow secure coding, access control, change management and data handling guidelines applicable to BC Hydro support environment.
• Support continuous improvement, application stabilization, knowledge transition and modernization readiness activities.
Experience Required
• Good communication skills and ability to work with business users, technical teams, application owners and support stakeholders.
• Minimum Good years of IT experience in application development, enhancement and production support.
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework/.NET, C#, VB.NET and Microsoft technology stack.
• Experience supporting or maintaining legacy applications built using VB6, Classic ASP and MS Access is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in Crystal Reports development, modification, troubleshooting and deployment support.
• Good working experience with SQL Server or equivalent relational databases, including SQL queries, stored procedures and data analysis.
• Experience in L2/L3 application support, root cause analysis, defect fixes, minor enhancements and production issue resolution.
• Knowledge of web application support, IIS, Windows Server environments, application logs and configuration troubleshooting.
• Experience with source control, release management and ticketing tools such as Git/Azure DevOps/Jira/ServiceNow or similar tools.
• Experience in preparing technical design notes, support documentation, runbooks and deployment steps.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate with onsite/offshore teams and deliver assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
