Your Role
As a Software Developer you will help shape the next generation of air–ground communications.
Join an international technology leader and work with major aviation partners to turn an innovative proof of concept into reliable, product-quality software for ESA’s ground infrastructure.

Working Model

Key Tasks
Evolve the existing proof of concept into reliable, secure, observable, and maintainable product softwareDesign and implement event-driven network services, protocol handlers, and state-machine logicTranslate RFCs and aviation or networking specifications into traceable implementations and automated unit testsIntegrate software with network devices and services using IPv4/IPv6, UDP/TCP, NETCONF, SNMP, SSH, and gRPCContribute to architecture, code reviews, unit and integration testing, CI/CD, packaging, and technical documentationDiagnose complex issues in Linux and containerized environmentsCollaborate with testers, system engineers, and international aviation partners.
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Competencies (Must Have)
At least three years of relevant professional software-development experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertiseStrong proficiency in Python or a comparable high-level language, with the ability to become productive in Python quicklyExperience developing event-driven, asynchronous, or concurrent softwareSolid hands-on networking knowledge, including IPv4/IPv6, TCP, UDP, routing, and diagnosing protocol or traffic issues using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdumpAbility to understand complex technical standards and turn them into clear, maintainable, and tested codePractical Linux experience, including package installation, virtual machines, networking, and troubleshootingExperience with Git-based workflows, automated unit testing, and collaborative code reviewsGood technical English and the ability to work effectively in an international team
Special Skills & Abilities (Nice To Have)
Scripting and automation in Linux environmentsExperience with OCI containers, Docker or Podman, Compose, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelinesKnowledge of NETCONF, SNMP, gRPC, SSH, LISP, raw sockets, or binary protocol implementationExperience productizing prototypes or developing high-availability, networking, aviation, or other mission-critical systemsFamiliarity with specification-driven and responsible AI-assisted developmentExperience working in a Scrum team and using Jira or a comparable work-management toolExperience with development in aviation, telecommunications or other mission-critical systems
