Job Description A major financial institution in Plano, Texas is seeking a GCP DevOps Engineer to help modernize, automate, and support its cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on building resilient cloud environments for high-priority applications using Google Cloud Platform, GKE, container platforms, and Linux-based systems. The engineer will be responsible for supporting cloud deployments, improving infrastructure automation, managing CI/CD processes, and maintaining stable production environments. You’ll partner with software engineering, QA, and operations teams to streamline releases, strengthen reliability, and improve the overall performance of cloud-based applications. Location: Plano, TX Contract Duration: 12+ months Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on background with Google Cloud Platform Experience administering Google Kubernetes Engine environments Solid knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration Experience supporting Docker Swarm Strong Linux administration experience Experience creating and supporting CI/CD workflows Familiarity with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or comparable deployment tools Understanding of cloud infrastructure security and networking concepts Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities Desired Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices Experience automating tasks with Python Experience working with RESTful APIs Exposure to OpenShift and OpenShift Container Storage Experience administering PostgreSQL environments Experience supporting Elasticsearch Ability to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional teams Strong organizational skills and attention to detail What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities Build, deploy, and maintain cloud workloads on GCP and GKE Operate and support Kubernetes and Docker Swarm platforms Manage and harden Linux servers across multiple environments Develop and improve CI/CD automation for application releases Provision and configure infrastructure using automation tools Write Python automation scripts and integrate internal and external APIs Partner with engineering, QA, and operations teams throughout the deployment lifecycle Diagnose infrastructure, application, and performance issues Maintain and troubleshoot PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch systems Improve platform uptime, scalability, and deployment consistency Maintain technical documentation covering architecture, standards, and operating procedures The Offer 12+ month contract Competitive hourly rate Medical coverage Dental coverage Vision coverage Paid time off 401(k) Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
