Java Backend Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Back-End Developer to join their dynamic development team. About the Role We're looking for a developer with at least 3 years of software development experience and a strong background in Java and object-oriented programming. You'll be responsible for building enterprise-grade applications that are robust, scalable, secure, and high-performing, while working with modern technologies and architectural patterns. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the development of systems that are transforming the way people travel and shaping the future of mobility.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to design and enhance software solutions aligned with business objectives.Develop, test, and deploy software following company standards, best practices, and version control processes.Work within Agile development methodologies.Research emerging technologies and architectural patterns to drive innovation and improve product quality.Participate in architectural design discussions.Produce technical and user documentation where required. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in software development.Strong experience with Java, particularly Spring Boot.Exposure to, or willingness to work with, Quarkus and cloud-native Java frameworks.Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Google Pub/Sub.Practical experience using Redis for caching and performance optimisation.Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices. Nice to Have Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Familiarity with BigQuery.Knowledge of containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.Interest in backend performance tuning, scalability, and system optimisation.
