Senior Software Engineer

Role Description This full-time remote Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core services that power Cyder’s loyalty and rewards platform. The engineer will implement scalable back-end features, optimize APIs and data flows, and ensure integrations with financial cores, card processors, and digital banking systems are robust and secure. Day-to-day work includes writing high-quality, testable code, performing code reviews, collaborating closely with product, design, and implementation teams, and troubleshooting production issues to maintain high availability and performance. The role also involves contributing to technical architecture decisions, improving engineering practices, and supporting continuous delivery and observability across the platform. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade services or platforms.Hands-on Back-End Web Development experience, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database-driven applications.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and patterns applied to modern software architectures.Experience with one or more modern programming language and related frameworks.Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure (Azure).Familiarity with security best practices, compliance-minded development, and high-availability systems in financial or similar regulated environments. Required • Senior engineering(+5-8years experience) with a track record of owning platform, infrastructure, or reliability outcomes end-to-end • Experience with relational databases at scale: schema design, query performance, and cost optimization • Experience running production cloud infrastructure and managing it as code. • Strong system design and architecture skills, you can take an ambiguous product need and turn it into a sound technical design • Production ownership mindset: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and postmortems are second nature Preferred • Fintech or credit union experience: you've built systems that handle banking-grade sensitive data and understand the compliance expectations that come with it • Loyalty, rewards, or payments platform experience • Comfort working in a Node.js/TypeScript codebase (we use NestJS, Fastify, and Next.js) and modern CI/CD pipelines (we use GitHub Actions) • Experience standing up infrastructure in new regions (data residency, multi-environment operations)
