Software Engineer

Job Description DP World is seeking a Software Engineer to join our UK IT team, supporting Ports and Terminals operations across the UK. This role is ideal for a technically strong and detail-oriented software professional who enjoys designing scalable systems, solving complex problems, and delivering high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency. You will work in a collaborative, high-visibility environment, contributing to systems that are critical to business performance, while also supporting and developing fellow team members. How You Will Contribute Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end software solutionsBuild scalable, secure, and reliable systems aligned to business needsWork closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutionsParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality and consistent deliveryApply and promote best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud developmentMaintain high standards for code quality, system performance, testing, and documentationTroubleshoot and provide ongoing support for live systemsConduct code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharingStay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative improvementsHelp ensure systems meet requirements for operational uptime, data integrity, and compliance What You Will Bring Hands-on experience with Navis N4 customization in a port terminal environment is requiredStrong experience with C#, .NET, and modern software development practicesSolid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming (OOP), and clean code principlesSolid understanding of SQL Server and NoSQL databasesExperience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWSExperience developing applications using modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or ReactStrong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and TDDProven experience delivering software in complex or enterprise environmentsExperience working within or alongside logistics or industrial systems (desirable)Understanding of operational or supply chain systems is an advantageExperience leading or mentoring engineers or development teamsStrong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teamConfident decision-making and a proactive approach to challengesStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly To Be Eligible To Apply Must meet the medical fitness requirements for the role Must not have any unspent criminal convictions (DBS checks are carried out)” Compensation DP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organization.
