We’re building a greenfield platform from the ground up, and we’re looking for exceptional engineers who care about ownership, speed, and quality. The Role: We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is strong in backend systems, comfortable working with large and messy datasets, and able to ship reliable production software quickly. This is a hands-on IC role for someone who can take ambiguous business and data problems, design the right technical approach, and deliver high-quality systems end-to-end. You’ll work on backend services, APIs, data processing workflows, integrations, and cloud infrastructure that power Nibbana’s core platform. What You’ll Do: Design, build, and operate scalable backend services, APIs, and data-intensive systemsWork with large operational and environmental datasets across ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layersOwn projects end-to-end - from architecture and implementation through deployment and monitoringBuild reliable systems with strong attention to performance, observability, data quality, and maintainabilityCollaborate closely with product, data, and business teams to turn complex requirements into production-ready softwareHelp shape engineering standards around testing, code quality, CI/CD, and operational excellence What We’re Looking For: 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building production systemsStrong backend engineering fundamentals: API design, system design, data modeling, async processing, reliability, and performanceStrong production TypeScript experience, with real fluency in strict typing and type-safe designExperience building backend services with Node.js; Fastify experience is a strong plusExperience with Python for backend services, data workflows, or internal tooling; FastAPI experience is a plusExperience building data-intensive applications or systems that process large datasetsStrong SQL skills and experience with relational databasesExperience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similarHigh ownership mindset, strong execution, and the ability to move quickly without compromising quality Nice to Have: Experience with TimescaleDB, time-series data, or analytics-heavy systemsExperience with event-driven systems such as Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similarExperience with Parquet, data lakes, warehouses, or lakehouse architecturesEarly experience in climate, sustainability, agriculture, or supply-chain data Why Join us?
