Overview of the Role
The Linux Cloud DevOps Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge Linux Cloud services to support business objectives.
This position is central to advancing HCLTech’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency, reliability, and security.
As part of an agile DevOps or SRE team, you will leverage automation, modern cloud technologies, and industry best practices to optimize the Linux environment, drive rapid lifecycle management, and deliver exceptional service to global clients.
Detailed Responsibilities
Take end-to-end responsibility for the Linux Cloud landscape, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for clients.Develop, configure, and maintain Linux Cloud services tailored to business needs.Manage operational tasks within a global team, emphasizing automation, scalability, security, and customer satisfaction.Utilize CI/CD frameworks to support rapid platform lifecycle management.Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for incidents, problems, and service requests.Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to resolve incidents and implement changes.Implement automation and self-healing solutions to minimize manual intervention and reduce operational toil.Monitor and address reliability issues, reducing error budgets and associated risks.Create and maintain internal technical designs and comprehensive user documentation.Support ITSM processes, including incident, problem, request, change, and capacity management.Skill Requirements
Azure Associate certification or equivalent expertise.Linux (RHEL) and Ansible certifications.Professional experience: minimum 5+ years for senior candidates; minimum 3+ years for mid-level candidates.Proven hands-on experience with Terraform, Python, and Ansible Automation Platform.Experience with at least one: Prometheus, RedHat IPA, OpenShift/Kubernetes, or other container solutions.Strong security mindset, ensuring all activities adhere to best practices.Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and toolsets (preferably GitHub Actions).Adaptability to fast-paced and dynamic environments.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for technical issue resolution.Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.Familiarity with Agile development, SCRUM, or SRE concepts is beneficial.Willingness to participate in standby/on-call duty.Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Other Requirements (Optional)
Experience with additional monitoring and automation tools.Exposure to cloud environments beyond Azure, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
