Senior Backend Engineer (Python) Build the infrastructure behind AI-powered private markets intelligence Salary: £100K–£160K base + £30-40K+ bonus + ESOP London Office or Remote UK/Europe |Series A, VC-backed Sponsorship available We're working with a fast-growing, profitable data intelligence platform used by 300+ leading VC and PE firms to source, evaluate, and win deals in private markets. The team has raised $10M, sits at 30 people, and is scaling its engineering org from 7 to 30+ this is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the backend and AI infrastructure from here. They're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (5-15 years' experience) to build the production infrastructure powering their agentic AI capabilities — a hands-on IC role working directly alongside the founders, with real ownership and zero bureaucracy. What you'll be doing - Build and ship production-grade backend services and APIs in Python and FastAPI powering AI-driven features - Develop the infrastructure and orchestration layer for agentic AI capabilities - Work closely with Postgres and ClickHouse to enable intelligent data retrieval and AI-driven analysis - Mentor teammates and shape engineering best practices as the team scales Tech stack: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, SQL, LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic), Embeddings/Vector DBs Reasons to be interested Building the "Bloomberg" of private markets: delivering real-time data and AI-driven insights that 300+ leading VC and PE firms use daily to discover and invest in top companies.Join a small, fast-moving team (6 people) shipping production AI features at pace.
