The Camptocamp Infrastructure Department is looking for a Senior Backend & Cloud Engineer passionate about software architecture, infrastructure automation, and continuous deployment.
In this key hybrid role with high added value, you will combine deep expertise in Backend development with proven mastery of Cloud environments.
You will design and develop high-performance backend services while driving modern Cloud infrastructure on Amazon AWS using rigorous engineering practices based on Infrastructure as Code (IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu) and GitOps principles on Kubernetes.
You will join a motivated, dynamic, and highly skilled team embracing DevOps culture, a "Code First" mindset, and a commitment to high standards to build resilient, scalable, and secure systems.

Your Day as a Senior Backend & Cloud Engineer
Your responsibilities will cover the following key areas:
Backend Engineering & Architecture:
Designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure REST / gRPC APIs and microservices (Python/FastAPI, Go).Data modeling and relational database optimization (PostgreSQL).Ensuring code quality through automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end).Cloud, Infrastructure as Code & GitOps:
Architecting, deploying, and managing Cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS: EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, Networking).Automating Cloud infrastructure end-to-end using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, OpenTofu).Container orchestration using Kubernetes (EKS) and implementing Continuous Deployment workflows based on GitOps principles (ArgoCD / Flux).Designing and optimizing automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).Managing observability (monitoring, metrics, logs, tracing with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elastic) and maintaining high availability.
Your profile
Your essential skills for success in this role
Education: Degree in Computer Science (EPFL/HES Engineer, Master's degree) or equivalent practical qualification.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a Backend Engineering role with a strong Cloud & Infrastructure component.Backend Engineering: Proficiency in modern languages (Python/FastAPI, Go), microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, SQL/NoSQL, and Clean Code (Essential).Cloud Infrastructure: Proven operational experience on Amazon AWS (Essential).IaC & GitOps: Solid practical experience with Terraform/OpenTofu (module design, state management), Kubernetes, and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux (Essential).DevOps & CI/CD: Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks.Languages: Good command of French and technical English.
A good working knowledge or proficiency in German is essential to collaborate effectively with Swiss-German teams and clients.

Location: In one of our offices in Switzerland (Olten, Zurich or Bussigny) with 50% home office possible.
Start date: Immediately or by arrangement.
Workload: We are flexible and you can choose between 80% and 100%.
