Role Description The Full-Stack Software Engineer will work on designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end features of the WG SPOT platform in a full-time capacity.
Day-to-day tasks include implementing new user-facing functionality, enhancing existing services and APIs, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability and security of the platform.
The role also involves collaborating with product and design teams to refine requirements, participating in code reviews, writing tests, and improving the overall architecture.
This is a hybrid position based in Berlin, Germany, with the flexibility to work remotely from home part of the time while also attending in-person meetings and collaboration sessions.
Qualifications
Strong front-end development skills (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, HTML, CSS).Solid back-end experience (e.g., Node.js, Python, or similar server-side languages; RESTful APIs; microservices; database design with SQL/NoSQL).Comfort with DevOps and tooling (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure).Knowledge of software architecture and quality practices (test-driven development, unit and integration testing, code reviews, performance optimization).Experience building user-centric digital products, ideally marketplaces or matching platforms, with attention to usability and accessibility.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly in English, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Berlin.Familiarity with data privacy and security best practices in web applications; German language skills are a plus but not required.
