Our Head Office is in Sheffield City Centre, with offices also based in London and Turkey. We've also expanded further, bringing retailers in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands on board, with the vision of being the leading automotive payment and insights platform! A Bit About The Role... We’re looking for an SRE/DevOps Engineer to join our growing Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll help shape and strengthen the reliability, scalability and observability of our cloud‑native platform. You’ll work across the business to improve how we build, deploy and monitor our systems, while playing a key role in incident response and continuous improvement. You’ll report directly to our Head of DevOps & Infrastructure and will collaborate closely with engineers across Bumper to build a high‑performance, well‑monitored, developer‑friendly platform — and you’ll be a key voice in building a strong SRE and DevOps culture across the team. This is a full-time role hybrid-role, based in one of our UK offices (Sheffield or London – Hammersmith). Our ideal candidate would be able to work at least 3 days a week from one of these locations. Day-to-day Responsibilities Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and AzureManage and enhance our Kubernetes (EKS) platform to support reliable, modern applicationsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and HelmImprove and support CI/CD pipelines using Argo Workflows, ArgoCD and GitHub ActionsLead and participate in incident response, including on‑call activities and major incident coordinationDrive high‑quality monitoring, alerting and observability across metrics, logs and tracesConduct and support blameless post‑incident reviews, ensuring follow‑up actions are deliveredDefine and implement SLIs/SLOs to improve service reliability and operational excellenceCollaborate with engineering teams to embed best practices and improve developer experienceContribute to automation, tooling, and continuous improvements that reduce toil and increase platform resilience What We Are Looking For In You… We’re excited to welcome someone who shares our passion for building reliable, scalable, well‑engineered cloud systems. Proven experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering rolesStrong hands‑on experience running Kubernetes in productionExperience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platformsSolid experience with Terraform and IaC automationExperience participating in or managing production incidents and on‑callStrong grasp of monitoring, alerting, and observability principlesAbility to diagnose and fix complex distributed systems issuesDemonstrated use of GenAI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude) in engineering workflowsExcellent communication and calmness under pressureA passion for automation and reducing toil Nice to haves... Experience with Grafana Cloud, IRM or other incident management toolsFamiliarity with Argo Workflows / ArgoCDExperience defining SLIs/SLOs at scaleBackground in Platform EngineeringExperience improving or redesigning incident management processes We’re an international team, and English is our shared working language.
