Description
Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: Krakow, Poland
Employment Type: Full-time
About the company
This company builds large-scale public data infrastructure, data pipelines that collect, structure, and deliver high-volume public web data for mission-critical companies in cybersecurity, public safety, and digital risk protection.
Their systems power platforms that detect bad actors, uncover impersonation and fraud, identify coordinated manipulation, and help public safety organizations respond faster to real-world risks.
This isn't dashboards or surface-level insights, it's stable, production-grade data flows that become part of customers' core products, with real-world impact on safety and fraud prevention.
Operating globally, they serve industry leaders across 20+ countries who depend on them for scale, reliability, and depth.
Profitable from day one, fully bootstrapped (no outside funding raised), and growing fast.
As part of R&D expansion, they're building Krakow into a key engineering hub that will own core systems and drive the next phase of growth.
Position overview
We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the infrastructure team, reporting directly to the DevOps Team Leader.
This role partners with engineering leadership to drive advanced infrastructure initiatives end to end, from system design through production hardening, setting the technical bar for operational excellence across the company.
The immediate challenge: a high-volume, multi-account AWS environment with real delivery, scaling, and operational problems to solve along the way.
Responsibilities
Drive cloud and migration strategy: work under the DevOps Team Leader to architect and execute the migration from ECS Fargate to Kubernetes (EKS) without downtime, while maintaining the existing cloud estateAdvance infrastructure as code: design and implement modern, modular IaC frameworks using Terraform and OpenTofu for consistent, multi-environment deploymentsArchitect enterprise CI/CD: evolve delivery pipelines (GitHub Actions, OIDC federation) at scale, reducing developer friction and raising deployment safety across dozens of servicesScale data-intensive infrastructure: oversee performance, capacity, and resilience of a high-volume data layer (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, RDS, Redis) and event-driven messaging pipelinesEnforce reliability and observability: apply org-wide reliability standards using modern telemetry (OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Grafana), ensuring on-call is driven by signal, not noiseBalance growth and governance: make high-impact technical tradeoff decisions balancing velocity, least-privilege security, zero-trust access (Tailscale), and FinOps cost efficiency
What we're looking for
Deep hands-on experience running production infrastructure on AWS, ideally multi-account, high-volume environmentsStrong Kubernetes experience, including migrations from container orchestration platforms like ECS FargateProven IaC expertise with Terraform (OpenTofu a plus)Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions and OIDC federation strongly preferredComfort operating data-intensive systems at scale (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, RDS, Redis or equivalents)Strong observability practice, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or similar telemetry stacksA security-first mindset: least-privilege, zero-trust principlesSenior-level judgment on tradeoffs between speed, safety, and cost
