We are seeking a Full-Stack Game Developer to design and develop high-quality, AI-enabled backend services and gameplay integrations for an engagement-focused platform and associated game experiences.
This role focuses on building scalable and maintainable server-side applications using Java and Spring, while actively contributing to client-side game integration in collaboration with the game team.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, game designers, AI engineers, and other developers to deliver intelligent, user-centric experiences that incorporate modern technologies such as AI-driven interactions, loyalty mechanics, and interactive gameplay.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java (Spring/Spring Boot) for the core platform and game-related features.
- Collaborate with game designers and AI engineers to integrate gameplay and gamification logic, including progression, missions, achievements, and reward flows.
- Integrate backend services with game engine clients (e.g.
Unity or Unreal Engine) for session management, game events, and player state synchronisation.
- Apply vibe coding practices and AI-assisted development tools to generate, refactor, and debug backend and game-related code from natural language requirements, while maintaining code quality and security.
- Ensure optimal performance, responsiveness, and reliability of backend services under varying load conditions.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, API specifications, and deployment procedures, with assistance from AI agents.
- Generate and maintain unit tests and regression test suites for backend components using AI-assisted tools, reviewing outputs to ensure coverage and correctness.
- Provide ongoing support, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and incremental feature enhancements post-deployment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
2–4 years of experience in application development.
Java Stack:
Proven experience in developing production-grade backend services using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
Core Architecture:
Strong understanding of backend architecture principles, including REST API design, data modelling, transaction management, and integration with relational databases (e.g.
MySQL, PostgreSQL).
DevOps Tools:
Experience working with version control systems and CI/CD tools (e.g.
Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).
Game Engines:
Familiar with gaming backend development or integration with engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
Modern Workflows:
Experience using AI-assisted coding tools and comfort with vibe coding workflows (describing features in natural language and iterating on AI-generated code).
Cloud & Containers:
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g.
Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
Engineering Standards:
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, clean code practices, and software architecture.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Languages:
Proficiency in Cantonese and English.
