Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States Type: Full Time Our client is looking for a Cloud Engineer III – Cloud Foundations Join a team focused on building and operating secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platform capabilities that support enterprise technology. This role emphasizes a services-driven and automation-first approach, enabling standardized solutions through APIs, pipelines, and self-service tooling rather than manual provisioning. You will play a key role in enhancing consistency across AWS and Azure environments, strengthening governance and observability, and simplifying cloud adoption for application teams. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and contribute to team directionApply DevOps and Agile practices to design and deliver solutionsDevelop and implement automated systems using coding standards and best practicesIdentify and resolve technical challenges through automation and engineering solutionsReview code to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainabilityDrive continuous improvement initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline enhancements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience3+ years of professional IT experienceHands-on experience with AWS cloud services (certification preferred)Strong exposure to container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and system optimizationSolid understanding of networking concepts and Linux-based platformsProficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or JavaScriptExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormationFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CircleCI, etc.)Knowledge of security fundamentals including certificates, firewalls, authentication, and vulnerability managementComfortable working with both Linux and Windows environments Preferred Skills Certifications in AWS, Docker, or KubernetesExperience with CI/CD automation, GitOps practices, and version control systemsKnowledge of site reliability engineering and infrastructure automationStrong understanding of cloud architecture and enterprise IT ecosystemsExposure to unit testing and software development best practices
