AWS DevOps Engineer

Role: AWS DevOps Engineer Location: McLean, VA (100% On-site) Duration: 6 Months Pay Rate: $57.00/hr On W2 OR $65/hr on C2C Role Summary Seeking a hands-on AWS DevOps Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native and serverless web applications in a 100% on-site setup in McLean, VA. The candidate will build and maintain automated CI/CD deployment pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild, manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via CloudFormation, orchestrate containerized applications using ECS/EKS/Fargate, and implement serverless solutions with Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions while enforcing AWS security best practices (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail). Key Responsibilities * CI/CD & Pipeline Automation: Create, maintain, and optimize end-to-end automated deployment and testing pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy. * Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Management: Develop, maintain, and scale cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation templates and monitor system health/performance via CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray. * Serverless & API Development: Design and deploy serverless architectures and RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway, Lambda functions, Step Functions, and DynamoDB. * Containerization & Cloud Native: Architect and support containerized application workloads utilizing AWS ECS, EKS (Kubernetes), and AWS Fargate. * Security, Backup & Disaster Recovery: Enforce enterprise AWS security controls using IAM, KMS, and CloudTrail; implement automated backup and disaster recovery strategies using EBS and S3. Required Skills * Primary Cloud Platform: Amazon Web Services (AWS) * CI/CD & DevOps Tools: AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, Git * Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Monitoring: AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray * Serverless & Microservices: AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS Step Functions, DynamoDB * Containers & Orchestration: AWS ECS, AWS EKS (Kubernetes), AWS Fargate, Docker * Storage & Core Compute: AWS EC2, S3, EBS, Disaster Recovery / Automated Backup Solutions * Security & Governance: AWS IAM, AWS KMS, AWS CloudTrail Preferred Qualifications * AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect. * Experience with third-party IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible in combination with CloudFormation.
