CORE PROFILE
This role will heavily contribute in maintaining existing services and implementing Maya’s next generation Loyalty Platform.
He/she should be able to design and implement backend services with performance, recovery, resiliency, configurability and maintainability in mind.
Experience working with unit testing, cloud services, containerization, and CI/CD tools is required.
NATURE OF WORK
Build and maintain applications and related system components.Design, plan, and implement services capable of dealing with huge volume of transactions.Develop secure and reusable APIs for internal and external use.Actively participate in code reviews and deployments.Implement automation tools for various utilities such as testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerts.Perform load testing benchmarks, analyze results, and identify areas for optimizationsLead architecture and design discussions for assigned services and domains, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.Drive technical decisions and influence engineering direction across multiple services.Evaluate the suitability of new tech stacks for existing and new platforms.Influence technical solutions across partner engineering teams and proactively align platform capabilities with product and business requirements.Own the technical health and lifecycle of one or more critical services, including architecture, observability, reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and postmortem activities, driving systemic improvements to platform reliability.Champion engineering best practices, coding standards, security requirements, testing strategies, and operational readiness across the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of experience in application development using Node.js/Typescript5+ years of experience in backend developmentExtensive experience in building and consuming RESTful web APIsProficiency with Relational Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and exposure to NoSQL Databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Dynamo, Redis)Familiarity with unit testing using frameworks such as Jest, Mocha and utilities such as Chai, IstanbulStrong grasp of version control tools (Git)Experience with creating, maintaining and deploying containerized applications (e.g., Docker, K8s, ECS, EKS)Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, or anything similar)Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectureExperience with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud service providersExperience with Agile Methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)Experience in developing and maintaining critical systems in production is a plusExperience developing apps using Java, Golang, Scala or Python is a plusKnowledge of mobile frontend development (Flutter, Native) is a plusKnowledge of web frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Vue, Angular) is a plus
