Industrial Monitoring Software Developer

THE ROLE We are expanding PRTG into the Operational Technology (OT) world. This role focuses on building native monitoring sensors and diagnostics for industrial environments such as PLCs, controllers, and industrial network devices. You will work on protocol communication, device diagnostics, and performance-critical components that allow PRTG to monitor industrial systems used in manufacturing, utilities, energy, and infrastructure. You'll be joining a small, focused team with clear roadmap, transparent ways of working, and short decision-making paths. No endless alignment rounds, just direct communication, real ownership. Please note that we can only consider applicants that are based in Krakow and surrounding areas and that this role is offered in a full time employment contract only. We cannot offer a B2B model. YOUR TASKS Design and implement OT monitoring sensors using C++ and/or RustDevelop communication layers for key industrial protocols: Siemens S7 communication, EtherNet/IP and CIP (Rockwell)SNMP for industrial devicesBuild efficient and reliable data acquisition components for PLC diagnostics and hardware monitoringWork closely with Product Management to translate industrial monitoring use cases into technical solutionsTake full ownership of feature development – from concept through implementation to testingContribute to the architecture of OT monitoring components within the PRTG ecosystemEvaluate new approaches and technologies to continuously improve development productivity and code quality YOUR PROFILE Must-have: Several years of professional experience in C++ – you're comfortable with low-level systems programming, binary protocols, and performance-critical codeExperience with network protocols and TCP/IP communication, including low-level data parsing and device communicationA track record of building robust, high-performance backend componentsYou treat Unit Testing, Code Reviews, and Continuous Integration as non-negotiable – not as overhead Nice-to-have: Solid knowledge of Rust (a genuine plus, not a checkbox)Experience with AI-assisted development workflows – using tools to accelerate code generation, testing, or debuggingA long-term mindset with an eye for overall architecture FACTS FOR YOU Many possibilities to further develop your individual skillsetInnovative and creative work environment with plenty of room for new ideasA structured onboarding phase with experienced colleaguesFlexible working hours and a family-friendly environmentPermanent employment contractA great working atmosphere in an enthusiastic international team with flat hierarchiesSubsidized germany-wide jobticket for public and regional transportation, bike leasing, bicycle cellar (incl. showers) and sufficient parking spacesWe actively support your health by funding membership of the Urban Sports ClubPaessler is a fast-growing midsized company that has been in the market for 20 years.
