Software Engineer (Contract) London (Hybrid – 4 days per week) Up to £1250/day Initial 12 months contract A leading financial technology firm is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join its engineering team on a long-term contract. This is an opportunity to work on highly scalable, low-latency systems that support critical data platforms and engineering initiatives within a performance-driven environment. You'll be responsible for designing and building high-performance distributed systems, helping to evolve core engineering platforms while working closely with engineers across the business. Key responsibilities Design and develop high-performance distributed systemsBuild scalable software to support business growthDevelop data processing libraries and engineering toolingDeliver market and reference data solutionsCollaborate with engineering teams to improve platform performance and reliabilityContribute to the design of modern, scalable software architecture Requirements Strong Kotlin and/or C# development experienceExperience developing on LinuxStrong understanding of distributed systemsExperience building scalable, high-performance applicationsPython experience would be advantageousExperience working with market data is beneficial but not essential Package Up to £1250/day Inside IR35Initial 12-month contractHybrid working (4 days per week)Opportunity to work within a highly technical engineering environmentExposure to large-scale distributed systems and modern software engineering practices This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within a fast-paced, engineering-first environment.
