This is a 1-year maternity cover contract. Part of the Retail Apparel Group (RAG) yd. is one of Australia’s leading men’s fashion retailers aiming to give style conscious guys access to affordable, sharp fashion. yd. is seeking a new product team member to join our established team—someone with the skills to make an immediate impact, who thrives in a values-driven environment and aligns with our core principles. Key Responsibilities Drive the financial performance of product categories across apparel, footwear and accessories.Independently develop and design product, combining current trends, best sellers and retail team feedback.Ability to range build, taking into consideration our core programs & new styles delivering within a timely manner.Identify key fashion and high fashion trends, such as fabrics, colour palettes, shapes and obvious product opportunities that are commercial and relevant for your category.Partner with our Production team to manage all phases of the product lifecycle including approvals and fits to exceed quality standards.Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and piers by fostering win / win outcomes.Supporting the Head of Product with sample management for key campaigns and shoot organisation. The ideal candidate will possess these skills, qualities and attributes; 5 yrs minimum experience required in a fashion product development role with a proven track record of commercial success - mens fashion experience preferable.Collaborative - a team player with an open mind willing to learn.Results oriented - driven and motivated, taking accountability for performance and outcomesSound technical understanding of garment construction, fabrics and manufacturing.Strong creative eye with a passion for product and expert knowledge of current and emerging fashion trends.Strong organisational and time management skills - able to prioritise, multitask, and deliver within deadlines.A sound knowledge of garment manufacturing and sourcingAbility to work with Adobe creative suites preferred (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)Meets new challenges with an open mind and thrives in a fast-paced environmentA high sense of urgency - thinks and acts like an ownerA passion for styling and outfitting preferred.Be proactive, passionate and enthusiastic about product and results.
