Java Developer - AI (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)

Job Description: Role: Java Developer - AI (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) Location: Montreal- Hybrid in office 3 days a week Face-2-Face interview round required with Client Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with 7-10 years of experience in designing and building enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, Data Structures & Algorithms, Distributed Systems, Multi-threaded Architecture, and Linux environments. Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code is highly desirable to accelerate software development and improve engineering productivity. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java-based applications. • Build and optimize distributed and microservices-based systems. • Develop robust, multi-threaded and concurrent applications with a focus on performance and reliability. • Participate in solution design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making. • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Work in Linux/Unix environments for development, deployment, and troubleshooting. • Utilize AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and production support activities. Required Skills • 7-10 years of strong hands-on experience in Java development. • Excellent knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. • Strong experience in designing and developing distributed systems. • Deep understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and performance tuning. • Solid experience working in Linux/Unix environments. • Basic understanding of Python for scripting and automation. • Experience with REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, and modern software design patterns. • Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Understanding of software security and performance optimization. Agile & Collaboration • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative software development practices. • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
