We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our high-performing technical team in Reston, VA.
In this role, you will architect, design, and implement innovative cloud solutions that enable our customers to fully leverage modern cloud technologies.
You will help build robust, scalable infrastructures and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimized performance, and efficient delivery of secure cloud environments.
Responsibilities
Analyze system requirements to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud architecturesLead the design, deployment, and optimization of AWS and hybrid-cloud solutions that meet mission and security objectivesDevelop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and configurationImplement cloud governance frameworks and ensure compliance with applicable security and regulatory standardsOversee automation workflows for deployment, monitoring, and operations to reduce manual effort and increase system reliabilityEvaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend enhancements to improve performance and cost-efficiencySupport both development and operations teams by integrating CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and performance tuningServe as a cloud expert, promoting collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning across engineering teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldMid-level candidates: 4-7 years of relevant experienceSenior-level candidates: 7-9 years of relevant experienceUS citizenship with active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required4–7 years of experience designing, deploying, and maintaining advanced cloud solutionsDemonstrated expertise in AWS environments supporting multiple classification domains (e.g., IL5 to IL6+)Proficiency with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EBSStrong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AnsibleProficiency managing and securing Linux and Windows Server systems in production environmentsHands-on scripting experience using Python and Bash for cloud automationStrong understanding of cloud security best practices and implementation of advanced security controlsExperience supporting operational environments, managing ticket queues, and leveraging knowledge bases for issue resolutionExcellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse audiencesActive CompTIA Security+ or equivalent 8140/8570 certification (valid for at least one year)Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate/Professional or SysOps Administrator) preferred
Desired Experience
Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with tools such as Jira and ConfluenceKnowledge of CI/CD frameworks and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, etc.)Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Background in automation, monitoring, and performance tuning in secure production systems

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
