Senior Software Engineer

Our client is a leading global technology company operating one of the world's largest digital platforms. They are expanding their engineering organization in Tokyo and are looking for experienced software engineers to build large-scale, cloud-native services used by millions of users worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Java and Kotlin to design, develop, and operate distributed backend systems for a large-scale marketing and communication platform. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services. Build and operate distributed systems and microservices. Develop new features while improving system performance, reliability, and scalability. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design. Investigate and resolve production issues. Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - More than 8 years of experience in software development. - Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming language. - Knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure). - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Language: Business Level English Preferred Skills - Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments. - Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline by Jenkins, Docker, and k8s. - Knowledge of test automation (Karate, BDD, Cucumber). - Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture. - Knowledge in Email industry is a plus. - Knowledge of Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) services is a plus. - Knowledge of front-end development such as Angular and React is a plus. - Working with mission critical services is a plus. - Strong ownership and desire to mentor other engineers.
