Lead Backend Engineer - Go + Distributed Systems 📍 London - 3 days onsite 📄 6 months starting ASAP 💰 Competitive day rate - Outside IR35 I'm working with an innovative technology company looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to help build and evolve a highly scalable workflow orchestration platform used in a complex enterprise environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving difficult backend and distributed systems problems at scale. You'll have experience with: • Production Go (Golang) • Distributed systems and event-driven architectures • Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms • gRPC / Protobuf APIs • Workflow orchestration (Temporal or similar is a plus) • Designing reliable, fault-tolerant backend services Bonus experience: • Multi-tenant SaaS platforms • High-throughput systems (payments, fintech, platform engineering, infrastructure) • Identity, security and audit • AI, LLM or agent-based systems We're looking for engineers who can own technical decisions, contribute to architecture and build production-grade backend systems that are resilient, scalable and maintainable.
