Senior QA Engineer

Our client in the public sector is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join its Digital Solutions team. The ideal candidate will actively contributes to test strategy, automation, continuous improvement, and modern quality engineering practices. Duration: 8 months + extension Location: hybrid 3d Toronto office Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for web, mobile, API, backend, integration, and AI-enabled applications.Perform functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, exploratory, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.Review business requirements, user stories, technical designs, and acceptance criteria to identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle.Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and regression suites using Playwright, Selenium, Python, JavaScript, and Java.Validate REST APIs, backend services, system integrations, and data integrity across enterprise applications.Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and continuously improve automation coverage and execution efficiency.Execute performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter and k6.Perform accessibility testing using tools such as Axe and Lighthouse and validate A/B testing implementations.Support testing of cloud-based applications deployed in Azure and AWS environments.Leverage AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve test design, automation, and quality engineering practices.Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, UX designers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide quality status updates, mentor team members, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements 5–10 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience testing enterprise digital applications.Strong experience testing web applications, mobile applications, APIs, backend services, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions.Hands-on experience with test automation using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Python, JavaScript, and/or Java.Experience validating REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar API testing frameworks.Exposure to performance testing using JMeter, k6, or equivalent tools.Experience testing cloud-based applications in Azure and/or AWS environments.Knowledge of accessibility testing standards (WCAG) and tools including Axe and Lighthouse.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps platforms.Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and modern Quality Engineering practices.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, proactive, and accountable approach.Demonstrated curiosity, enthusiasm, ownership, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
