Title: DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Denver, CO
Six months contract-to-hire
Hybrid Role
$60-$75/hour
The Planet Group has partnered with a Denver are company to locate a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to help design and secure a modern cloud environment supporting connected IoT technologies and mission-critical data.
This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering role where you'll partner with development, cloud, and security teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities: Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environmentsBuild security directly into CI/CD pipelines using automated scanning and compliance toolsDevelop Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) that follows security best practices by defaultSecure APIs, cloud services, and data pipelines supporting connected IoT solutionsImplement encryption, identity management, secrets management, and secure authentication mechanismsPerform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews across cloud environmentsStrengthen container and Kubernetes security while improving developer workflowsPartner with engineering teams to champion a "Shift Left" DevSecOps cultureSupport security compliance initiatives, including ISO 27001 and cloud security best practicesRequired Skills and Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructureStrong experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security servicesExperience integrating security into CI/CD pipelinesHands-on experience with SAST, DAST, container security, and vulnerability managementStrong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform strongly preferred)Experience implementing encryption, IAM, authentication, and secure networkingFamiliarity with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards such as ISO 27001Ability to collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and security teamsPreferred Skills and Experience: CISSP, CCSP, GCSA, or cloud security certificationsExperience supporting IoT, edge computing, or connected device environmentsKubernetes and container security experience
