Description

Navigai8 has partnered exclusively with Fiskil to hire a Senior Go Product Engineer. After helping them scale their engineering team in 2023, we're excited to be partnering with them again. The best part? Every engineer I placed with Fiskil three years ago is still with the company, a testament to the team, culture, and products they've built. Fiskil is genuinely one of my favourite clients and one of the companies I most enjoy working with, so I'm thrilled to be supporting them on this hire. About the job Your title will be Senior Product Engineer We work 3 days/week in our Sydney office Competitive salary + benefits What are we building at Fiskil? Fiskil is building the infrastructure of the Open Data economy. We’re a developer platform. Our customers integrate directly with our APIs and infrastructure to securely share user-permissioned data. Our customers are often technical teams building directly on top of our infrastructure. Fiskil is scaling quickly. We’ve built critical infrastructure for Open Finance, Open Data, and regulated data-sharing use cases, and our customers are increasingly relying on us for more complex product capabilities. We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer who can lead projects from idea to production. Someone who can gather requirements, understand customer problems, design the technical approach, and deliver high-quality features across the full stack. What do we value? Ownership: You take responsibility for outcomes, not just implementation. You can lead projects, clarify requirements, make trade-offs, and drive features through to completion. Product thinking: You care about the customer experience and understand that great engineering is about solving real problems, not just writing clean code. Technical depth: You’re comfortable working across frontend, backend, infrastructure, APIs, and security. You can reason through complex systems and make pragmatic technical decisions. Security and reliability: Our platform handles sensitive data-sharing flows, so security, compliance, availability, and resilience are core to how we build. Iterate with quality: We ship incrementally and never compromise on quality. We go fast by going well. Leverage through technology: You actively use AI and modern tooling to move faster, improve quality, automate repetitive work, and increase engineering output. What will I do? You’ll help design, build, and maintain the core product experiences and infrastructure that power Fiskil’s platform. You’ll work across the full stack and be expected to lead projects from discovery through to delivery. That means: Lead the delivery of end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and infrastructureWork with product managers, designers, engineers, and customers to gather requirements and shape solutionsLead and contribute to technical architecture discussions and help guide technical decisions within the teamImprove platform reliability, observability, performance, and securityIdentify customer pain points and turn them into scalable product improvementsWork in a fast-paced environment where features are consistently shipped, tested, and adapted to customer needsHelp maintain a secure and compliant platform by improving controls, monitoring threats, and strengthening engineering practicesUse AI coding tools to accelerate development, debugging, documentation, and internal workflows What does our ideal hire look like? You’re a senior engineer who enjoys building products, not just systems. You’re comfortable moving across the stack and taking ownership of ambiguous problems. You likely have: 5+ years of experience building production softwareStrong hands-on experience with Go in production environmentsStrong experience working with Google Cloud PlatformExperience building across the full stack, including frontend, backend, APIs, and infrastructureExperience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as ReactA strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and production-grade backend servicesExperience writing and maintaining infrastructure as code, such as TerraformA deep understanding of security best practices for enterprise softwareSolid experience with authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth 2.0 and OIDCStrong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and programming language conceptsClear communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts simplyA strong ownership mindset and comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environmentExperience using modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar Nice to have: Experience with OpenID Connect, FAPI, or financial-grade API security profilesExperience working on regulated data-sharing, Open Banking, payments, identity, fintech, or enterprise SaaS platformsExperience with serverless or event-driven architecturesExperience with API gateways, secrets management, encryption, key management, and secure cloud architectureExperience building developer platforms, customer-facing APIs, or technical onboarding flows The application process Submit your CVWe’ll organise an initial call with someone from the team — 30 minsTechnical/product engineering interview — 45 minsFinal conversation with Jake and the team Our culture Every second counts: we spend our time where it creates the most value It’s on you: you’ll have autonomy to own your outcomes Pride in our work: challenge yourself and others to strive for the best
