Senior MLOps Engineer / Lead

Iris’s client, one of the Top 5 Bank in Canada is looking to hire a Sr. ML Ops Engineer / Lead for a long term contract opportunity. Position: Sr. ML Ops Engineer / Lead Location: Toronto, ON Duration: 12+ Months Required Skill: We are seeking a highly driven Project Lead with deep expertise in AWS cloud platforms and modern infrastructure practices. This role combines technical leadership, client-facing ownership, and team enablement across multiple initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, proactively unblocks teams, and serves as a trusted technical advisor for cloud-native and AI/ML-enabled solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee multiple AWS-based delivery initiatives in parallelAct as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholdersArchitect and guide cloud solutions leveraging AWS best practicesMentor and enable offshore teams, ensuring progress during distributed working hoursProactively identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; unblock teams effectivelyDrive infrastructure automation and platform maturityCollaborate with AI/ML engineers to support ML infrastructure, pipelines, and deploymentsEnsure security, reliability, scalability, and cost-awareness across cloud workloads Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering AWS projects, with overall 10+ years of experienceDeep understanding of core AWS services (IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, Sagemaker etc.)Strong expertise in container technologies (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK preferred; Terraform acceptable)Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflow automationUnderstanding of the AI/ML ecosystem, including model deployment and ML infrastructure patternsExperience owning client communication, technical discussions, and delivery updatesAbility to support and unblock teams during offshore working hoursSelf-driven, proactive, and accountable with a strong ownership mindset Nice to Have Experience with MLOps platforms and ML pipelinesExposure to cloud cost optimization and FinOps practicesPrior people-management or delivery-lead experience Thanks and Regards, Raghav Ranjan Iris Software / SSA Infosystems Inc Royal Bank Plaza – North Tower 200 Bay Str.
