Cloud Application Engineer

Role: Cloud Application Engineer Location: Mississauga, ON(Hybrid) Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications on AWS.Build and maintain Java-based microservices following modern software engineering best practices.Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) to automate cloud provisioning.Manage source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes using GitLab.Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Codex to improve development efficiency and code quality.Analyze business and technical requirements, identify the best implementation approach, and deliver high-quality solutions.Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams while independently driving assigned deliverables from design through deployment. Required Skills: 6+ years of experience in cloud application development.Strong hands-on experience with AWS services.Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.Experience with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Proven ability to independently manage deliverables with minimal oversight while meeting project timelines.
