Full Stack Developer

Full Stack Engineer - React, Node.js & AWS Join a leading public sector organisation and help build the next generation of digital tools supporting its people and services. Working within an experienced digital development team, you will design, develop and support web and mobile applications used across the organisation. This is primarily a full-stack engineering role, with a strong focus on React, Node.js, TypeScript and AWS serverless technologies. The opportunity You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, translating business and technical requirements into secure, reliable and maintainable software solutions. Alongside developing new applications and features, you'll support an established portfolio of digital platforms through troubleshooting, optimisation and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects and stakeholders across technology and the broader organisation. What you'll do Design, develop, test and maintain web applications, APIs and integrations Build frontend and backend functionality using React, TypeScript and Node.js Develop and deploy serverless solutions in AWS, including AWS Lambda Investigate application and integration issues, identify root causes and implement effective fixes Support existing applications through maintenance, optimisation and production support Contribute to solution design, estimation, planning, testing and release activities Produce high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, code documentation and testing records Identify opportunities to improve performance, security, code quality and development practices Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout delivery What we're looking for You'll bring: Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript and Node.js Experience building and deploying applications in an AWS serverless environment Hands-on experience developing AWS Lambda functions Experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrations Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server and DynamoDB Demonstrated experience developing, deploying and supporting production applications A solid understanding of SDLC practices, including source control, code reviews, debugging, testing and release management Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent documentation skills and close attention to detail The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders A pragmatic approach to delivery in a fast-moving environment Experience with React Native or mobile application development will be well regarded but is not essential. Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline are preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered. About you You are a practical, collaborative engineer who is equally comfortable developing new functionality and improving existing systems. You care about maintainable code, reliable applications and clear documentation, and you can confidently troubleshoot complex issues across frontend, backend and cloud environments.
