Summary

A newly launched, well-funded technology venture is hiring founding senior engineers to build an AI-native platform. You will work in a small, highly experienced team, own major parts of the system end to end, apply agentic AI architecture patterns where they create the most value, and ship production software rapidly. Strong experience with modern software engineering and technologies such as Rust and TypeScript is expected.

Description

A founding role is available within a new startup funded by Deck2 Capital (deck2cap.com). Deck2 acquires profitable digital insurance companies, while our operating arm, Cove (joincove.ai), is responsible for running and growing them. You'll be hired by Cove for this role and work alongside them throughout, ensuring that the new venture exceeds expectations within this new stealth venture that's already profitable. I'm hiring several founding senior engineers to help build an AI-native insurtech in Sydney. For us that means an agentic workforce working alongside a small, senior human team. Engineers who know the AI architecture patterns and, more importantly, where to apply them effectively for highest ROI in a production platform. This isn't a role where you're handed a ticket and a spec. We're small, the surface area is huge, and you'll own meaningful parts of the system end to end. Modern tech stack, languages such as Rust and TypeScript, shipping real product fast without dropping the quality bar. What I'm looking for: A genuine polyglot, full-stack engineer - happy in any language, picks the right tool for the job. How you think matters far more to me than what you've used.Someone already AI-native in their own workReal agentic engineering, not prompt theatre, with the judgement to direct and review what the agents produce.A track record of building AI-native production-grade systems that actually went to production and stayed up.A high bar on testing, security and auditability. We're in a regulated space, so "it seems to work" isn't enough.Experience with modern development tools and workflows (version control, CI/CD, automated testing).Hands-on expertise in Back-End Development, including building and maintaining APIs and MCPs.Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed systems, experience with AI or data-intensive applications Want to see how much a few strong people with modern tooling can really do?
