Highlights

Work in a small, collaborative cross-functional team on durable web applications used by major organizations and public-sector customers. The role offers flexibility to specialize in frontend development while learning complementary technologies, with exposure to modern architectures and varied application platforms.

Description

About us We build complex, state-of-the-art web applications for customers who actually depend on them: top-500 companies in automotive, energy and finance, plus the public sector. Our applications are typically driven by RESTful backends, and they are built to last longer than a hype cycle. We are around 20 people in Innsbruck, Tirol. Small enough that you will know everyone's name, large enough that you are never the only person who understands a system. Where you come in You will join one of our cross-functional teams building custom applications that run in web browsers, on desktops and on mobile devices. On the frontend side we work with Angular or React, styled with modern CSS. On the backend side we use current Java technology, including Microservices and Java/Jakarta EE. You will not be expected to be equally strong in all of it. Most of our people arrived with a clear centre of gravity and picked up the rest here. What we do ask is a willingness to occasionally walk a path you don't know yet. We contribute to the open-source tools we use rather than just consuming them — if that is something you have wanted to do and never had the room for, there is room for it here. What we are looking for Around 2 to 3 years of professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript - if you are a strong junior with a solid foundation, we would still like to hear from youA good understanding of object-oriented design, including design patternsAn interest in working collaboratively in small, genuinely agile teamsEnglish at roughly C1 level, spoken and written - this is the language a lot of our work happens inGerman at roughly B1 level is a real advantage, and we will support you in improving it if you are not there yet Nice to have, not required Java / Jakarta EEJavaFX (and e(fx)clipse)Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or a general curiosity about DevOps If you read this list and can tick most but not all of it, please apply anyway. We have never hired anyone who matched every line. How we work Hybrid, and we mean it. One day per week in the office is fixed - that is when the team meets. We tend to prefer two or three days while you are finding your feet. Colleagues who work four days from home and one in the office are not a theoretical possibility here, they exist.Full-time is what we are hiring for. If you are looking for something closer to 30 hours, tell us - we would rather have that conversation than not have you apply.Flexible hours around the fixed team day.Everyone has a seat at the table. Our approach is far from perfect, and people who help us refine it are the people we most want to hire. Our team Our development team is currently all male. We are not comfortable with that, and this hiring round is one of the things we intend to do about it. We are explicitly encouraging women to apply. Pay According to the Austrian collective agreement for the IT industry ("IT-Kollektivvertrag"), the annual minimum gross salary (before taxes and social insurance) for this position is EUR EUR 55,356 and 62,664, depending on experience and qualifications. Our hiring process We aim for around of three weeks from application to final decision. Screening - two of us read your application.First conversation (approx. 15 minutes, video) - a short mutual introduction. No technical test.Technical conversation (video, or in person if you are nearby) - including a live coding session. You will receive the topic and format in advance. It is a pair-programming exercise, not an exam - we are interested in how you think, not whether you can perform under observation. If a take-home exercise would suit you better, say so and we will arrange that instead.Decision - you will hear from us either way. Interested? Apply with your CV. A cover letter is welcome but not required. If you would rather point us at a repository, a project or something you have written, that works just as well. Questions before applying are genuinely welcome - including the awkward ones.
