Front Office Developer

Front Office Developer Location: Dublin, Ireland Role Overview: The Front Office Developer will design, build, and support trading tools and automation for the trading desk, working directly with traders and desk stakeholders to improve workflow efficiency, decision support, and execution quality. The Front Office Developer will be part of the Front Office Team at NBCGF reporting to the Head of Development. This role is ideal for someone who is excited by financial markets, motivated by impact, and eager to build tools used every day by traders. Main Responsibilities: Build and maintain front-office tools, analytics, and workflow applications for the trading desk.Partner directly with traders to capture requirements and convert ideas into robust production solutions.Automate repetitive desk processes to improve speed, control, and scalability.Apply AI-enabled techniques where useful (for example, workflow intelligence, data extraction, anomaly detection, and decision support).Deliver high-quality code with robust testing, monitoring, and operational reliability.Provide day-to-day support for desk tooling, including incident triage and fast issue resolution.Perform business analysis across trading, risk, and operations workflows.Take ownership of applications and processes end-to-end, from design through support.Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, release practices, and documentation. The ideal candidate will possess: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.Interest in trading, financial markets, and front-office workflows.Hands-on coding ability in Python, with solid SQL and data engineering fundamentals.Interest in AI, practical automation, and building solutions that improve user experience and business outcomes.Communication skills, confidence working directly with front-office users and translating requirements into practical solutions.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and reliability.Proactive attitude, intellectual curiosity, ownership mindset, and willingness to learn quickly.Experience in securities-based lending, derivatives, or broader financial markets.Experience in front-end development, including React, JavaScript, or CSS for user-facing interfaces.Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, cloud deployment patterns, market microstructure, PnL/risk concepts, desk controls, or AI tooling.
