Company Description PPLIED is a hands-free hiring platform designed for recruiters and job seekers. Recruiters can post a role once and receive an automated daily shortlist of top-matched candidates—without relying on job boards, manual searches, or fees. Job seekers upload their resume once, and PPLIED continuously matches and applies to relevant roles on their behalf, connecting them directly with interested recruiters. By removing repetitive applications, cover letters, and manual candidate searches, PPLIED makes hiring simpler and more efficient. The platform is free for both sides of the job market. Role Description The Software Engineer will join PPLIED in a full-time, hybrid role based in Seattle, Washington. The position combines in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely on designated days. Working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers, the Software Engineer will help build and improve the core PPLIED platform. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining back-end services and APIs, enhancing matching algorithms, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of production systems. The engineer will also review code, contribute to architectural decisions, write automated tests, monitor application performance, and help deliver a secure and efficient experience for recruiters and job seekers. Additional responsibilities include participating in agile ceremonies, documenting technical solutions, and promoting software development best practices across the team. Qualifications Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.Proficiency in software development using modern programming languages and frameworks.Experience in back-end web development, API design and integration, and databases.Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and related design patterns.Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or microservices is beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team and communicate technical concepts clearly.Ability to work in a hybrid setting in Seattle, Washington.
