Senior Software Engineer

On The Spot Development is looking for a Senior Node.js Software Engineer to join Vetric — a data technology company that provides fully managed pipelines and APIs for collecting and delivering structured public data at scale. For this role, we act as a recruitment partner handling the hiring process on behalf of our customer. You’ll play a key role in designing and developing high-scale, event-driven backend systems, working closely with product and engineering teams in a fast-moving environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, learns quickly, and enjoys shaping architecture early on. Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScriptDesign and implement high-performance APIs and event-driven architectures on AWSBuild scalable, reliable systems capable of handling intensive workloadsLead feature development end-to-end — from design to productionCollaborate closely with product and cross-functional engineering teamsMentor teammates and promote best practices in code quality, testing, and securityContinuously adapt as the product evolves and new challenges emerge Requirements 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript in productionStrong experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS)Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and event-driven architectureExperience with modern testing frameworks (Vitest, Jest, Playwright)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication skills in EnglishAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Nice to have Experience with GOBackground in distributed systems or event-driven platformsExperience working with LLMs or modern AI toolingKnowledge of ReactExperience with SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD best practices Benefits The benefit package depends on the contract type and will be discussed individually during the interview process.
