Working within an Agile environment, you’ll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with architects, business analysts, testers, and stakeholders to deliver innovative software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in solution design, backend development, systems integration, production support, and continuous improvement while helping shape modern enterprise platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Java Solutions Engineer, you will: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications using modern software engineering practices.Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration services.Develop robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and related technologies.Build and maintain integrations with enterprise messaging platforms and external systems.Produce technical specifications, solution designs, deployment documentation, and operational guides.Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and release management activities.Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployments.Investigate and resolve application defects, production incidents, and performance issues.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation initiatives.Monitor application performance and optimise system reliability and scalability.Maintain technical documentation and participate in knowledge-sharing across the development team. Key Skills & ExperienceWe’re looking for an experienced software engineer with strong enterprise Java development experience and a passion for building robust, scalable applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Java.Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA, Hibernate, and enterprise application development principles.Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration solutions.Experience working with JDBC, Java EE/Jakarta EE, and object-relational mapping frameworks.Strong database experience, including Oracle, SQL development, data modelling, and stored procedures.Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, including Bash scripting.Experience with enterprise messaging technologies such as IBM MQ (JMS).Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) is highly regarded.Experience with frontend technologies such as ReactJS, HTML, and CSS is desirable.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience working within Agile software delivery environments.
