Description

About P-X Systems is growing. The past couple of years a solid foundation for the company has been laid. Now it is time for P-X to scale, and that is why we need you! We are a European cybersecurity company headquartered in the historic center of Amsterdam. We develop and deliver a full service security platform which ranges from our own hardware, low-level and userland software. Our solution collects and analyses data from networks and can pass it on to other security tools such as security information and event management (SIEM) platforms. You get to work with a unique solution. The hardware is versatile and flexible in its deployment. We use radio frequency (RF) communications to transmit (meta)data to upstream security services, making it unlike any other solution. Our customers are in the government, utilities, oil & gas and water sectors, our focus is on the operational technology (OT) realm; the technology is equally relevant in the world of IT. What we are looking for in general In most companies, IT employees are increasingly only working on a highly abstracted level. AI has amplified this development, and coding is increasingly becoming an exercise in reviewing and steering generated code rather than building solutions from first principles. This counteracts holistic insight and the eventual effectiveness of anything you produce. That does not mean we do not use AI to our advantage; rather, we use it as a tool while maintaining a deep understanding of the systems we create and operate. P-X Systems is looking for people who are inquisitive by nature and have broader knowledge and curiosity about digital technology. In other words the true meaning of the word "hacker". This also means - from our side - that everyone in the company enjoys a lot of freedom and is able to work on a great variety of activities and technologies. We promise that on all levels you will be working with bleeding edge technology across the board. Junior/Medior Back-end Software Engineer (Rust) We are looking for a Back-End Software Engineer with a strong technical foundation. You will work on software written in Rust that runs across servers, containers, and resource-constrained hardware. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how software behaves end-to-end: from backend services, databases and APIs to device-to-device communication, observability, deployments, and debugging. Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency and multithreading and networking. Experience with Rust (preferred) or Go/C++/Java.Understanding of source control using Git.Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues independently. Nice to have Experience with DockerFamiliarity with asynchronous programming and concurrent systems. This position is designed as a growth role. We expect strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn; prior expertise in every technology listed above is not required.
