This role can be remote for initial 6 months but would require future relocation to Cleveland. Insight Global is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join a growing infrastructure and platform engineering team supporting enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This individual will play a key role in defining platform strategy, driving infrastructure modernization, and ensuring highly available, secure, and resilient environments across cloud and on-premises ecosystems. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and DevOps best practices. This is both a hands-on technical leadership role and a strategic position responsible for shaping platform standards, reliability, security, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Define and drive platform engineering strategy, standards, and best practices.Lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable cloud and infrastructure platforms.Administer and optimize Kubernetes-based container platforms and supporting ecosystems.Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) to automate provisioning and deployment processes.Partner with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and production readiness initiatives.Oversee platform monitoring, logging, performance optimization, and incident response efforts.Design and maintain CI/CD and DevOps tooling to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.Lead infrastructure resiliency efforts, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.Implement and maintain platform security controls, access management, secrets management, and compliance standards.Review architecture designs and provide technical recommendations to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.Mentor engineers and serve as a technical lead across platform engineering initiatives.Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to support platform growth and modernization efforts. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.6+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related disciplines.Strong hands-on experience with:KubernetesDockerTerraformExperience managing enterprise cloud environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP.Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools.Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.Experience supporting monitoring and logging platforms such as Splunk, ELK, Elasticsearch, Nagios, or similar tools.Experience implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, security, and infrastructure architecture.Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across multiple engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)AWS Certified DevOps EngineerAzure Solutions Architect CertificationExperience with Rancher for Kubernetes cluster management.Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.Knowledge of HashiCorp Vault, cert-manager, NGINX Ingress Controllers, and TLS certificate lifecycle management.Experience with observability and monitoring tools including Sysdig, Fluentd, and Elasticsearch.Experience supporting highly available production environments at enterprise scale.
