Medior Forward Deployed AI / Software Engineer wanted: would you rather build AI than talk about it? For a fast-growing Dutch AI scale-up based in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Medior Forward Deployed AI / Software Engineer. You will not be working on a chatbot that disappears after the demo. You will build AI solutions that become a real part of day-to-day business operations. Think of systems in which AI agents, data, business processes and existing software work together to make complete processes smarter or automate them entirely. What will you be doing? → Building AI agents and multi-agent workflows → Connecting LLMs to tools, data sources and existing systems → Developing API and MCP integrations → Working with RAG, tool use and workflow orchestration → Setting up monitoring, logging and evaluations → Contributing to decisions about architecture, scalability and reliability → Implementing AI solutions that continue to work beyond the demo environment Depending on your interests, you may focus more on the technical platform or work more closely with clients. In the latter case, you will map business processes and translate them into working AI solutions. This is not a role where you simply write prompts or call an API. Who are we looking for? You are a medior professional with a strong technical foundation. You do not need years of experience with agentic AI. What matters more is that you can demonstrate that you enjoy building, learn quickly and can independently work through technical challenges. You have, for example: → Experience with Python and/or JavaScript → A solid foundation in software development → Experience with APIs, Git and databases → Experience with LLMs, agents, RAG or AI development tools → An interest in cloud environments, preferably Azure → A bachelor’s or master’s degree in AI, Econometrics, Computer Science, Data Science or a comparable technical field Have you built something yourself using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, Hugging Face or MCP? We would love to see it. A strong GitHub profile, working prototype or impressive personal project can sometimes tell us more than a perfect CV. What makes this role interesting?
