Description

Lead Backend Engineer (Payments) Plexus has partnered with a high-growth fintech building next-generation payment infrastructure for global money movement. They're looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to help build scalable payment systems, APIs, and financial infrastructure used by businesses worldwide. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.Build payment processing systems and integrations with payment gateways.Develop secure, reliable infrastructure for cross-border payments and settlement.Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across backend services.Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new features. Requirements: 5+ years of backend engineering experience.Strong commercial experience with TypeScript & Node.js.Experience building payments APIs, payment gateways, or financial systems.Strong understanding of API design and distributed systems.Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).Experience with ledgering, reconciliation, or settlement is a plus.Exposure to blockchain or stablecoins is a plus.
