You will design and maintain data platforms across AWS and GCP, working with data lakes, warehouses, orchestration, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code. The role combines platform engineering, data infrastructure, security, automation, and operational excellence, with close collaboration across data engineering, analytics, and machine learning teams. Strong experience with AWS, GCP, Terraform, Docker, BigQuery, Python, Airflow, dbt, monitoring, and access management is expected, along with excellent communication skills and fluent English and Polish. Candidates must reside in Poland.

Join Sii and work with one of Europe’s leading fintech scale-ups. We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to help shape the future of the data ecosystem. In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance our cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP, enabling scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions for the wider business. You will work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and data, partnering closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver a platform that supports current and future data needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing data platforms, evaluating technical trade-offs, and building reliable infrastructure that empowers teams across the organization. Your tasks Build and maintain the Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability componentsEnhance the platform by introducing new features and services, improving monitoring and observability, and automating common operational tasksDevelop and maintain CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experienceCollaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to support and evolve the MLOps PlatformManage and optimize the data estate, including IAM and access policies, storage management, platform monitoring, and cost controlDesign and implement secure, compliant, and user-friendly data infrastructure solutionsContinuously improve platform performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environmentsWork with stakeholders across and beyond the data organization to understand requirements and deliver platform capabilities that meet their needsContribute to and uphold strong engineering practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and established data governance standards Requirements At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Platform EngineeringStrong infrastructure and platform engineering experience, including modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, AWS and GCP, Docker, and TerraformExpertise with BigQuery, including security, performance optimization, and cost managementExperience working with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue), including query optimization, security, and cost-efficient designProficiency in Python and modern data technologies such as Airflow and dbtSolid understanding of data security, platform security, and access managementExperience implementing and maintaining observability and monitoring solutions, such as Grafana and CloudWatchStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical options and make informed trade-offsExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersComfortable working in environments with high engineering standards, including CI/CD, code reviews, pull requests, and established governance practicesFluent English (both written and spoken)Residing in Poland requiredFluent Polish required Nice to have Experience designing or building MLOps platforms and supporting machine learning workflows in production environments Job no.
