Principal DevOps Engineer

Your architecture choices, your deployment pipelines are part of technology that is actively changing how cardiovascular disease is diagnosed and treated. We're looking for a Principal Platform Engineer with deep AWS and infrastructure experience. You'll own and evolve our Terraform foundations, architect secure automated systems in an FDA-regulated environment and build CI/CD pipelines that let teams ship confidently. This is a hands-on role with real architectural influence, not a ticket queue. The Ideal Candidate Will Have 7+ years of DevOps/SRE/Platform engineering experience in an agile environment, with fluency in at least one scripting or systems language (Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, etc.).Deep, hands-on Terraform expertise. You've designed modules, managed state at scale and know where it breaks down.Extensive experience building and supporting AWS environments (ECS, EFS, EC2, RDS, Redshift, VPC, Route53, etc.).Strong containerization and orchestration skills (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate) and experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI, etc.).Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog or New Relic.Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences. Work Location and Hours: This role is based out of our office in Boston, MA. We operate in a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration.This role participates in on-call rotation that provides coverage on business days from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The rotation is shared among all team members and generally occurs for 2–3 weeks per quarter. Salary Range: The anticipated base salary range for this position at Elucid is $170,000-$205,000. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, relevant experience, certifications, and geography as outlined in the job description. At Elucid, we believe the best work happens in a flexible hybrid environment. Boston-area employees are encouraged to work from the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the option to come in additional days if they prefer.
