Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.   Role Description:   We are seeking an enthusiastic Technical Accounting Specialist to join our Technical Accounting & Oversight team. This role is primarily focused on US GAAP and SEC technical accounting topics and related projects. Based at our headquarters in Amsterdam, you will be part of a dynamic organization of finance professionals and report to the Head of Technical Accounting & Oversight for Booking.com. You will also interact regularly with our Group teams in the US and the UK.   Key Responsibilities: Provide US GAAP accounting guidance to other finance teams regarding  new initiatives, products, and non-recurring transactions. Document and review technical accounting assessments in line with US GAAP. Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate and proper accounting by developing and maintaining a deep understanding of key financial statement line items. Drive continuous improvement through standardization, process creation, automation, and task simplification. Act as a key partner to Financial Controllers and other core Finance departments (including FP&A, Risk & Control, Business Units, Tax, Treasury, and Reporting). Undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as requested by the manager. Ideal Candidate Profile: Solid expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting.  Strong comprehension of other functional Finance areas such as Risk & Controls, SOX, Financial Systems, and Compliance.  Ambitious, inquisitive, keen to develop, and ready to take on additional responsibilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in stakeholder management. Required Qualifications & Experience: University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics, and/or postgraduate education (e.g., RA/CPA/ACCA). Approximately 8-10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting. Sound knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS experience is beneficial). Experience in a Big 4 Audit firm. Proven ability to work effectively in a team within an international, matrix organization. Enthusiastic about innovation and process improvement. Fluent in both spoken and written English.
