About the role we're looking for
We're looking for a full-time Senior Backend Engineer in Amsterdam to own Waving’s backend challenges end-to-end, building robust services that perform in protecting critical infrastructure in real-world settings.
Building robust services that connect sensing devices to security control rooms, driving system reliability in real-world deployments - prioritising what matters and driving execution across hardware, firmware, backend, and data science.
This is a highly pivotal role, side-by-side with our CTO and Senior Product Manager, guiding the tech team to turn our current PoCs into Waving's near-future highly scalable product, solving real customer problems and delivering real customer value.

Who we're looking for
Proven experience in leading backend engineering teams and effectively working with product managementHands-on and execution-focused, comfortable solving problems and making pragmatic engineering decisions to deliver production-quality systems.5+ years designing, building, and optimizing backend systems (hands-on)3+ years professional experience with C or C++ and with PythonExperience designing and maintaining production backend systems (services, APIs, deployment, monitoring)Nice to haves: experience working with low-spec hardware, familiarity with embedded systems or edge computing or with communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, and Wi-Fi standardsExperience in the security or technology sector is a valuable assetFluency in English
